Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
For Celtic Thunder, Sharon Browne has teamed up with Grammy-nominated Irish songwriting and composing veteran Phil Coulter to produce a show that includes an eclectic mix of songs ranging from the traditional "Mountains of Mourne" and "Come By the Hills" to international hits such as "Brothers in Arms" and "Desperado," as well as original compositions by Coulter, who has written hits for Elvis Presley ("My Boy") and the Bay City Rollers, and performed with Van Morrison, Tom Jones, and the Rolling Stones. The ensemble numbers in Celtic Thunder reflect the power of the vocalists, who range in age from 14 to 40, and feature songs that celebrate a common Celtic heritage.

5 out of 5 stars Celtic Thunder   January 7, 2009
This was the most wonderful show I have seen on TV or on live stage. I have purchased several DVDs to give to friends and family. My g.daughter and her little friends all love it. They particularly love Damien, who was fourteen when the show was first shown on PBS, but they also have a fondness for Keith, who was about five years older. I like all of them as they are a fantastic ensemble, but I must admit I have a liking for Ryan--the "bad boy." Recently, I was able to take my college g.son to Little Rock to see the show live. It was as good as the DVD, but, unfortunately, due to our both being nearsighted, we could not see their faces. When I was asked to critique the show, I suggested they show the faces on the screen up above. We were not in the $100 seats, which were on the floor in front of the stage, but in the $75 seats in the tier just above. The show was downsized from the elaborate setting shown on TV, but still great music. I have turned many people on to this and highly recommend it.

Quality is A-one. Was at the concert and the Video is almost as good as being there. Unbelievable value for the money.

5 out of 5 stars Celtic Thunder -the show   January 6, 2009
This show was fantastic live and it is wonderful to be able to watch them whenever I want and also see the stars talk about themselves. I would recommend this to anyone whether Celtic or not. An excelent show.

Watching this DVD is my first experience with Celtic Thunder. These guys can sing, but I think the title, "Celtic Thunder," is misleading. After all the wonderful reviews, I expected a male version of "Celtic Woman," with lots of Celtic (sounding) music and songs. What it sounds like is a group of guys who sing well singing some songs; nothing unique. (I mean, how Celtic is "Puppy Love?") Even their rendition of "Mull of Kintyre," a favorite of mine and my husband's, didn't redeem the show.

Great songs & fun to watch. They just seemed to repeat the songs from the first Irish Tenor Concert in dublin. It was worth watching.
