5 out of 5 stars Ignore The Haters: This Album Smokes!   November 7, 2008
I never review records, but can't stand to see so many bash this gem. It seems that too many either don't like rock or don't like death metal. For me I love both, and while not terribly technical, Six Feet Under IS death metal (Chris Barnes could never be anything else). This album provides a new, supercharged and super-scummy take on an all time dirtbag classic. While AC/DC had the good talent to pen this epic, the original version is played out, and therefore Six Feet Under's master should replace it on the shelves of every classic rock station in the world.

Barnes' vocals on this album are raw and incredible. The lyrics are completely comprehensible (which is a feet for a death metal vocalist), and are belted out with a dry fury that no one can top. How anyone could not be pleased with Barnes just totally barking out the chorus to "Back in Black" is beyond me. Also the tracks less likely to get rotated like "What Do You Do For Money Honey" and "Givin The Dog A Bone" are even better than the originals.

For those who are the slightest bit curious and like the idea of rock/death metal crossover, you need to pick this up right away. For those who were dissapointed with this release, you need to loosen up, have another drink and give it another spin. And for those about to rock, I salute you!

Bring On Graveyard Classics 3!!!

4 out of 5 stars Love it or hate it.   September 1, 2008
A previous reviewer had it right people either love or hate Chris Barnes' vocal style. But what I hate is the fact that people that don't even like death metal or even metal for that matter write reviews for SFU and Cannibal Corpse albums. "Cannibal Corpse sucks it's just noise if you want real music listen to nickleback at least you can understand what he's saying!" If you don't get death metal that's fine but don't review it then. Now for the music. For people that love the groove and the good times of AC/DC but want a little more power and enjoy death metal vocals this is a pretty solid release. There are some interesting moments like when Barnes who once sang such classics as stripped raped and strangled and F****d with a knife sings the "she told me to cum but I was already there" line in You shook me all night long. But the only weak moments come from Barnes' lack of range even for a death metal vocalist that means a few songs aren't as good as they could be but this is still a pretty good release and I would definitely reccomend it.!

1 out of 5 stars Best comedy album ever!   June 1, 2007
First off, it's typical metal riffs covering Back In black, so there is a sign that this album already sucks. It may be total tripe, but this isn't a normal cover of Back In Black. You got Chris Barnes from Cannibal Corpse, grunting the turgid lines! It's absolulety hilarious, and this may be the funniest album since AxCx's It Just Gets Worse. It's good for a big laugh, but that's it.

1.0/10

1 out of 5 stars XD   May 31, 2007
First off, I'm not one of those people that trashes Six Feet Under just because of Chris Barnes. I actually enjoy older SFU, and I prefer Cannibal Corpse with Barnes in it. However, Six Feet Under's 2nd volume of Graveyard Classics has got to be one of the most unnecessary piles of garbage I have ever heard. It's a cover album of AC/DC's most overrated album, "Back In Black", so you basically know that all of the songs basically run together. The only credit I give on this CD is that Chris Barnes is less annoying than Brian Johnson. Otherwise, this sucks. I mean, covering one or two songs is tolerable, but doing a whole cover album is just useless. Avoid and go for "Haunted", "Warpath" or "Maximum Violence" instead.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible, but Hillarious   December 1, 2006

This has to be the worst CD I have ever heard... That said, I recommend people buy it because it really is hillarious. As an AC/DC fan that grew up listening to "Back in Black" for years and one who views it as one of the best albums of all time, I find this rendition to be about as bad as it gets... but in a funny way. The guitar and bass are excellent, the pitch, tone and rythym are spot-on... and then there is the singing...

I can't describe the shock I received after hearing the opening guitar riff of You Shook Me All Night Long that was killer, only to break out in uncontrollable laughter when the singer started singing the song in this gruff low distorted voice that sounded like utter tripe. The difference between the AC/DC original and Six Feet Under's is primarily measured by this alone, as the other components are commendable. That voice though... oh - my - god... just terrible. So in short if you are looking for good vocals look *anywhere* else, but if you are looking for a good laugh or gag gift for that AC/DC fan in your life, then this is a must buy!
