this is a fantastic cd. music recorded in a home, not a studio, with a fresh energetic feel. all lovers of bluegrass should have this, and even if you have no other bluegrass recordings, i don't see how you could not love the great music on this disc.

I feel kind of bad reviewing this without even listening to the whole thing but i feel that i have to ... i heard it last night for the first time and fell in love. The whole CD was recorded by David Grisman in 1963 in Red Allen's kitchen in Maryland ... its just Red and Frank and every note is crystal clear. Everything from hot picking tunes to lonesome harmony to babies crying in the background. I borrowed it from my friend to listen to it today and somehow it disappered ... so i'm here ... ordering one for him and one for me. (mando players listen to this! )
