Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
If ever there was a definitive blues collection, this is the one. A 2CD set, contains 45 tracks from a who's who of blues music's most essential artists, including Muddy Waters, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Howlin' Wolf, Albert King and B.B. King to name but a few.

4 out of 5 stars good sampler - MANY wrong performers listed - 2008-10-20   October 21, 2008
howdy y'all,

this is a VERY good collection. unfortunately, amazon has many of the track performers listed incorrectly. seems they list many by writer instead of performer. i can't find a trustworthy online listing for the performers. [*sigh ...*]

i can _assure_ you that track 3 of disk 1 is NOT performed by "traditional"! [*grin*]

take care,
lee

5 out of 5 stars No One Gets Outta Here Without Singin' The Blues!   March 16, 2004

Whether you love the blues or don't even know how to spell it, THE GREAT TOMATO BLUES PACKAGE is a must for any music collection! Muddy Waters! Leadbelly! John Lee Hooker! Howlin' Wolf! "Big Mama" Thornton! They're all here, along with many more! My only complaint is that each artist does only one song. I could have listened to a four disc set! Buy it immediately...

4 out of 5 stars It's a good pick!   February 5, 2003

This is an excellent "beginners" blues album, lots of variety, has a good scope, from very early Mississippi Delta blues to more contemporary artists, so that the listener can see how the blues style changes, yet always remains the same.
