| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Jason Mraz left his Virginia hometown right after high school and struck out for New York City to find his fame and fortune. Honing his skills by busking on the streets in the Big Apple, Jason decided that perhaps this line of work could be performed in a nicer climate. Next stop: San Diego, and soon Jason moved from the outdoor beachside stages to inside a local hot spot called Java Joe's. It was there he met percussionist/vocalist Toca Rivera and the two made a name for themselves all along the California coast. With the help and encouragement of manager Bill Silva and producer Jerry Lindahl, Jason recorded this CD in front of a live audience at Java Joe's. This led to his recording contract with Elektra/Atlantic and the subsequent releases Waiting For My Rocket To Come (2003), Mr. A-Z (2006) and We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things (2008).

I now officially have a new favorite album! January 8, 2009 This Album is amazing from beginning to end. It's a shame that I just now found this album. I admit I had illegally downloaded his album "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things." for the song "I'm Yours" but after listening to the full album, I fell in love with it that I drove to Best Buy and bought all his three albums. After researching about him, I found this album, but did not find a store that sold it, so I bough it here. This album is probably his best!!! Jason Mraz is now one of my favorite artist now, I cannot wait for his next project... I will be ready to buy it... :-)
Wow! December 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I didn't know how much I would love Jason Mraz till I got this download as the deal of the day. I only knew the songs that I've heard on the radio, but thought I'd give this one a shot. I finally listened to it today and can only say WOW! This guy has an incredible voice and this is really fun cd! I will be downloading more of his stuff now that I know how much I love him! Really enjoyable!
I really really highly recommend this December 10, 2008 If you need further proof of how talented Jason Mraz is, look no further than this live set, consisting of only Jason on guitar and Toca Rivera on percussion, performing songs that Jason wrote and arranged without the help of big-name producers and co-writers. Everything about this CD is fantastic. The lyrics are great, the musicianship is impressive, and Jason's voice sounds incredible. The songs form a cohesive set, but are different enough from one another that you never experience that "every song sounds the same" syndrome. When I first bought this years ago, you could only get it from Jason Mraz's website. Y'all are fortunate it can now be bought online, and at such a reasonable price. Don't hesitate.
Nothing short of FANTASTIC December 7, 2008 Not much more to say, when I write this 31 of 32 reviewers give this five stars. This is an incredible look at Jason Mraz's humble beginnings. Recorded in a coffee house in Oceanside, CA (not too far from my home in Escondido - which is also Toca Rivera's hangout) over seven years ago. Sound is great and the coffee house crowd really appreciates this great music. I only wish I could have been there!
Some may say Mraz is now getting overly commercial, but I disagree. His new stuff is still the best music out there when compared with other artists. Jason's own older stuff is phenomenal in its own right.
See him live if you can. Well worth whatever it costs. Best concert ever. With or without pants, right Ian?

love it! it's so early in his career but you can still hear the great potential that he has, compared to now. :)
