A Perfect 10 for the Songwriting August 20, 2006
Staci Frenes breaks the mold of the norm and is quite confident in her God-given abilities. Her experience is evident in Nothing Short of Amazing, her fourth CD. This bay-area marvel has written with Margaret Becker and other notables, so the term "professional independent" is Staci in a nutshell.
The Great Divide is my favorite track on the album because of its development, melodyline, and haunting vocals. Every Christian can identify with the lyrics, and every one will be caused to pause and reflect at the unending love of Christ. Bottom line, this is an incredible song. Amazing ends with Reprieve, a great surprise that brings us to a worshipful place. I love the lyrics on this song; very intelligent, very deep, absolutely beautiful and an excellent closer. Staci has a very "current" sound, but she does not fall back on bubblegum lyrics to achieve this accomplishment. Forgive the obvious pun, but this album truly is nothing short of amazing!
